Carnegie Science Center Goes “Reading Under the Stars”

Parents and kids are finding fun and unique ways to go “reading under the stars” this year in support of the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge.

For example, over 400 Girl Scouts and over 100 chaperones in the Pittsburgh-area attended Carnegie Science Center’s “Reading Under the Stars” event on May 9th.

Scholastic joined in on the “Science Sleepover” fun by providing The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System, EVEREADY® flashlights and batteries, activity sheets, reading certificates and more in support of the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge.

This event is the second museum/planetarium partnership Scholastic will participate in this summer for the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. Check out the next event(s) in your neighborhood:

  • Milwaukee Public Museum “Overnights” (Milwaukee, WI, May 16)
  • The Smithsonian: National Museum of Natural History “Smithsonian Sleepovers” (Washington, DC, May 17)
  • Adler Planetarium “Astro Overnights” (Chicago, IL, June 6)
  • California Academy of Sciences “Penguins + Pajamas” (San Francisco, CA, June 13)

Keep on reading! We have already reached 18 million minutes logged.

To quote Ms. Frizzle: “WAA-HOO!”
