Account Executive, Education Sales (Jacksonville, FL)

Our Education Division is seeking to hire an energetic Account Executive, with educational publishing experience in the K-12 market, who can partner with schools and communities to extend literacy. Along with classroom books and instructional materials, to meet students’ needs, we provide workshops, extensive teaching resources, and work with communities and long-standing literacy partners to ensure that students receive learning support 24/7 and from birth to adulthood.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieve assigned goal 

  • Serves as the Lead for all identified districts 

  • Develops intimate relationships with all stakeholders throughout the accounts 

  • Meets with customers to discuss areas of concern and gaps 

  • Develops district contacts and cultivates relationships at all levels that enhances Scholastic’s position which leads to major growth within designated accounts

Release Engineer

The Release Engineer will join Scholastic’s System Lifecycle Engineering team to create and maintain deployable system artifacts across the various STS Programs. The engineer will build (or source), maintain, and integrate the underlying technology stacks that support software builds and/or application deployments. The candidate will also serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to development teams and will act as Level3 support for Production and Operations.

Responsibilities: 

The Release Engineer is responsible for architecting, maintaining, and streamlining our automated build and release pipeline from code compilation, automated testing, to deploying releases to multiple environments. The candidate will also be responsible for defining best practices for source control management, creating and maintaining documentation of the build/release process, and investigating tools and processes and integrating them so that they can improve the reliability, stability and efficiency with which we release our services.

International Operations Coordinator

This role serves as the liaison between international subsidiary offices and the US headquarters by providing ongoing support to the subsidiaries regarding rights and royalties, marketing and publicity, availability of stock, options for new print runs, co-editions, and reprints, negotiating and securing permissions and approvals for various local initiatives.

Responsibilities:

This position is also responsible for supporting Export Operations through management of Export-owned inventory, including the mathematics programs, and providing product information (territorial rights, prices, etc.) needed for orders to be processed.

Executive Editor, Early Childhood Language and Literacy

The Executive Editor of Early Childhood Language and Literacy will assist in creating innovative, research-based, developmentally-appropriate learning experiences. He or she will contribute to product planning and will manage a team of content developers to bring product plans to fruition with the highest commitment to quality and efficacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage up to 3 editors and external freelancers and vendors as needed.

  • Write, review, edit, and approve content as needed.

  • Ensure content alignment to relevant research and early learning standards.

  • Maintain ongoing coordination with content leads in Math & Content Areas and Bilingual/Dual Language Learning.

  • Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with peers in art & design, production, marketing, finance, and operations departments.

  • Present finished programs at conferences and meetings.

  • Keep current on research and trends in early childhood education and share important information with colleagues.

Managing Editor, Parents Online

Bring your editorial talent to a website that focuses on helping parents guide their children on their learning journeys. This is the perfect opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented digital editor who’s equally adept at ideating and executing high-level content ideas and managing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Work closely with Senior Editorial Director to define and drive editorial strategy and initiatives.

  • Support Senior Editorial Director to plan and meet product and business goals.

  • Help execute day-to-day editorial operations.

  • Along with Senior Editorial Director, manage Senior and Assistant Editors as well as freelance staff (designer, editors, bloggers).
