We covered how teachers, librarians, book lovers, authors, and organizers use Pinterest, but what about parents? There is an array of great content for moms, dads, and guardians out there. Mom bloggers are all over Pinterest, and parenting magazines and websites have fabulous boards full of everything from kid-friendly recipe ideas to parenting books to bedroom decoration ideas.

Here are a few ways parents can use Pinterest:

Make the kitchen kid-friendly. Persuade picky eaters with this Food Art For Kids board, featuring edible butterflies made out of apple slices, banana hotdogs, teddy bear toast, and more. Parent & Child Magazine’s Scrumptious Teats & Snacks board has great kid-pleasing recipes as well. Discover design ideas for kids’ bedrooms. There are a ton of decor ideas on Pinterest, from shelving ideas and book organization to mobiles and reading nooks. Many parents are sharing how they surround their children with books—it’s wonderful! 

Find crafts for a rainy day. Make homemade headbands, rainsticks, a beautiful dream catcher, or a growth chart for a child’s bedroom. There are endless ideas on Parent & Child’s Crafts board. Pinterest is also full of ways to recycle household items for kids’ crafts (like this paper towel roll crocodile!)

Make the most of extra quiet time with these free printables for kids.

Curate booklists for little readers. Book boards are everywhere you look on Pinterest. Parents are pinning books they want to read to their kids, books they’ve already checked off their list, best bedtime reads, books for girls and boys, books about sports, the list goes on.

Stay updated on education and parenting news. Pinterest can also be a valuable news source for parents. In addition to new books about parenting, there is also valuable data on kids’ learning and development, like the Kids & Family Reading Report, or teacher tips for parents.
