In Our Feeds: donating devices, sleeping on roofs, drinking hot chocolate
By Morgan on January 11th, 2013
Each Friday, we share a handful of links we found interesting, provocative, funny — or just plain cool. We call it In Our Feeds. Have a good weekend!
Hi! Welcome to Friday afternoon — a time just perfect for catching up on the Internet, no? And there’s lots to share. First, Alex sent me this story about 10 devices you should consider donating to schools. Considering many of you probably received a new gadget during the holidays, this is a timely piece from Edudemic about what to do with your old one!
Nadia found some great stuff this week. Here’s one about an author who swam to his book release party…really! Meanwhile, in Berlin, a stunning forest library has sprouted up — as Megan said, talk about books coming full circle! And in adorable news, a principal has promised to sleep on the roof of his school if his students read 2,000 books by the season opener of baseball team York Revolution. Talk about dedication to motivating your students
Megan pointed out this fascinating piece about libraries. Apparently NYC dwellers are going to the library more than ever…only they’re going to meet people, work, research, and attend events.
And finally, a “fun, random winter story” from Anne: if you’re looking to maximize the taste of your hot chocolate, you should drink it out of an orange mug. (You’re welcome for that handy tip.)
Happy reading!
