This Halloween, before applying your zombie makeup and hitting up every house in the neighborhood for candy, add this to your calendar: R.L. Stine is taking over Scholastic’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for a two-hour live chat!

On Wednesday, October 31st, from 1 to 3pm EST,  the bestselling author of the Goosebumps® series will be taking the reigns on our Facebook page and Twitter handle to share spine-tingling stories, photos, trivia, and jokes, and answer readers’ questions. R.L. Stine is joining us for the second year in a row, and in case you missed it last year, he came to our office, cracked open his laptop, and delivered hilarious answers to fan questions like “What’s your favorite Halloween candy?” and “Where do you find inspiration for your writing?”

This year, the takeover is even more special because we’re celebrating an incredible milestone: 20 years of Goosebumps . In July 1992, Scholastic introduced a monthly book series by R.L. Stine called Goosebumps with Goosebumps: Welcome to the Dead House. Twenty years later, Goosebumps is now one of the best-selling children’s series of all-time—with more than 400 million books sold in 32 languages, selling at the phenomenal rate of four million books per month in the mid-1990s. He has written over 300 horror fiction novels and he’s even been recognized by Guinness World Records as the ‘Most Prolific Author Of Children’s Horror Fiction Novels’.
