It's finally here: the Summer Challenge! Think kids will break the world record for reading again?

92 years

92 years

By on October 22nd, 2012

Two years ago today, we kicked off a massive 90th anniversary celebration by launching a new reading campaign, Read Every Day. Lead a Better Life. We’re proud that 730 days later, we still have a thriving (and recently relaunched!) Read Every Day website, a long and ever-growing list of Lit Champs who are doing the important work of spreading literacy to kids around the globe, and we continue to share our message of getting kids to learn to read and love to read through the work we do, all around the world.

That work continues to be diverse enough to reach kids and the adults who teach them everywhere — work like our CEO delivering a wonderful speech about the importance of children’s literacy at the Frankfurt Book Fest, to Taylor Swift hosting a Read Every Day webcast to classrooms this coming Wednesday, to J.K. Rowling hosting a webcast just a few weeks ago, to celebrating BIG brand anniversaries like Clifford the Big Red Dog’s 50th and Goosebumps’ 20th. Working at Scholastic is never dull — and indeed, it’s more colorful and inspiring than I imagined possible.

There are lots of ways to keep up with what Scholastic’s doing every day, all year long, to help kids read: check us out on social media, read our excellent parent-, teacher-, and kid-focused articles and resources at Scholastic.com, visit us in our SoHo Store, stay involved in our Book Clubs and Book Fairs, and of course…READ!

Here’s to 92 more years!
