It's finally here: the Summer Challenge! Think kids will break the world record for reading again?

Two awards for Scholastic – hooray!

Congratulations to the Scholastic Summer Challenge and Scholastic News Kids Press Corps!!! We’re excited because both websites received “Best in Industry” Awards from the New Media Insititute.

Submissions came in from around the world and were judged based on innovation, design, user-friendliness, how dynamic they are, and most importantly — how well they serve their audience’s needs. Summer Challenge excelled in the Education category and Kids Press in the News for Kids category.

This is such an exciting time for both initiatives. Not only have they been recognized with these awards but the Summer Challenge will soon announce the Top 20 Schools who helped to break the world record in summer reading and Kids Press is in high gear covering the election. Today the Kids Press team is live reporting from the Democratic National Convention, kids everywhere can participate in the student vote- check it out here, AND Scholastic is currently accepting applications now for new Kid Reporters. WOW, talk about busy!
