Public school students in Brooklyn and Queens are officially published authors!

By on June 18th, 2012

After a year-long mentorship program with Scholastic Book Clubs, fourth grade students at P.S. 279 (Herman Schreiber School, Brooklyn), P.S. 195 (William Haberle Elementary School, Queens), and P.S. 135 (Bellaire School, Queens) have published books following the theme “Inspiring Stories of Family History and How They Define Who We Are.”

Scholastic’s Writers of Tomorrow program brings experts together with students and takes them through the necessary steps to publish a book – thinking of an idea, writing and illustrating the story, and marketing the book.

Check out the trailers they made for their books!

“Unbreakable Bonds — The Hero’s Legacy,” by students at PS 279

“Awesome Heroes,” by students at PS 195
