My favorite part of Valentines Day was decorating our shoe boxes! My kids love the surprise of new Valentines themed books and foods. Heart shaped snacks are always fun.

last year was pretty great. We ordered fair trade chocolates for both of my kids and I came in and talked to their classes on chocolate and my kids passed out these sweet little valentines and chocolates from Equal Exchange.

The best part of Valentine’s Day is the heart-shaped cookies we bake every year! The kids and I bake sugar cookies and spend the afternoon decorating them. We take them to the neighbors, the grandparents, and their teachers! A sweet little treat made with love!

My parents made my sister and I Valentine’s each year. Mom did the card, Dad wrote the (often humorous) verse.

My favorite memory is my 3rd grade valentine’s day party. For some reason this one sticks out. I clearly remember the little homemade envelopes on the back of everyone’s chairs catching the kids valentines.

My favorite memory was decorating an old shoe box for school to collect all my Valentines! I always had sparkles and glitter covering the surface. I also loved going through all my Valentines from my classmates, candy was always an added bonus! Valentine’s day was so great in elementary school!

I grew up in a country where Valentine’s Day isn’t celebrated by children, but I remember the joy of getting a gorgeous rose from my husband (boyfriend back then) – I pressed it and still have it as a keepsake

My mom always gave us baskets of goodies for Valentine’s Day and she still does! As a kid, I always looked forward to that special day and I get to carry on the tradition with my own kids

My favorite valentine’s day memory is gathering all the girls at my house to celebrate our friendships by baking cupcakes. We did everything by ourselves as my mother watched from the sidelines. Ofcourse she managed the oven. It was so much fun decorating the cupcakes with heart candy and sayings. I remember writing I love mommy on mine as best I could and made my mother so happy

A favorite memory was in 2nd grade, when the boy who liked me gave me all 32 of his valentines. No one else in the room received one from him… I was really impressed with him that day, but he moved away over the summer and I never heard from him again…… sweet memory…

My favorite Valentines memory was of being in the 4th grade and finding a small box of chocolates in my desk. I looked out into the hall and saw a boy trying to get my attention – he was letting me know that he put them there. He was my first Valentine.

My valentines at school was a tough time…Our class didnt make the students give valentines to everyone. I could remember that I would end up without many cards. Only to make me feel left out…and hurt….
My best childhood memory was that my 1 friend from another school came by with valentines with her mom and gave a special made valentine gift for me. After I came home with a heart broken day… my bestfriend that I did not go to school with… she was there for me… that is the most memorable childhood memory…

My favorite Valentine Memory has to be making valentines with my sons. They were 3 and 4 and wanted to make Valentines to hand out at the YMCA where I worked. They spent hours decorating Valentines and having me write Jesus Loves You and I Do Too and each of them. Then were so exicted to give them out at the YMCA.

When I was about 11 or 12, a boy I knew made me a color-by-number Valentine and I thought it was just the sweetest thing ever.
I still have it today.

My best Valentine Memory is while in Elementary School the picture company came and took our pictures. When we ordered the pictures they came as stickers and neat valentine cards. My mom let me peel my stickers and attach them to each valentine card I sent that year! I loved those valentine cards because I got to give each of my friends a picture of myself on their valentine card.

My mom would always surprise me with little treats, whether it be heart-shaped pancakes before school, a funny love poem packed in my lunchbox, or a gift-wrapped trinket. No one has been able to top her thoughtfulness.
