The Rise of Miss Power

The Rise of Miss Power

By on February 17th, 2012

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Well…that’s not always entirely true, not even for WordGirl.

This Monday during a special hour-long episode on PBS KIDS GO!, WordGirl — Scholastic’s definition dynamo — is ESCSTATIC (adj, feeling or expressing overwhelming happiness) when intergalactic visitor Miss Power lands on Earth with her sidekick Captain Giggle Cheeks. Not only does Miss Power have super strength and speed like WordGirl, but she also helps WordGirl defeat the city’s menacing villains!

We have a sneak peek of the new episode – take a look below. Has WordGirl finally found a fellow super hero that she can team up with for the greater good, or is Miss Power actually a super bully? Voiced by Glee’s Jane Lynch, Miss Power has a secret weapon: using mean words against others!

So, tune in this Monday to see how WordGirl learns to use words to EMPOWER others — not hurt them. (Check your local listings!) And, check out the new WordGirl DVD, available February 21st!
