The Kids Choice Awards nominate Scholastic titles!

The Kids Choice Awards nominate Scholastic titles!

By on February 16th, 2012

Breaking awards news: The Kids Choice Awards 2012 nominees have just been announced, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that two of our titles have been included in the “Favorite Book” category!

The Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games trilogy are both in the running. (Harry has actually previously won in the category a staggering seven times!)

Of Harry Potter, Nickelodeon says: “If you haven’t read all of the Harry Potter books by now, you’ve probably been living under a rock. The series by J.K. Rowling is praised by everyone we know and don’t even get us started on the movie versions! Will Harry and his crew win a Blimp for giving us these amazing reads? FUN FACT: The last name ‘Potter’ was inspired by J.K Rowling’s childhood neighbors.”

Of The Hunger Games, Nickelodeon says: “While Harry Potter has lit up the screen with its book adaptations over the past few years, The Hunger Games is just getting started. The book series about Katniss Everdeen competing in the fight for her life has taken us on an extremely suspenseful journey that (no offense, Katniss) we just don’t want to end! The book is a serious must-read and if Katniss can fight in The Hunger Games, she will no doubt be huge competition at the KCAs. FUN FACT: Hunger Games author, Suzanna Collins, used to write for the old school Nick show, Clarissa Explains It All.”

Boy, is this a tough call. Which series are YOU rooting for?

Winners will be announced on March 31!
