FREE Teaching Resources on Presidents Day at Scholastic.com

FREE Teaching Resources on Presidents Day at Scholastic.com

By on February 20th, 2012

As we celebrate Presidents Day, many of you may be looking for new and exciting lesson plans and ideas for the classroom—well look no further! Scholastic has created a number of FREE resources that will help kids learn about our founding fathers not only on Presidents day but throughout the school year.

Scholastic.com offers an “Everything You Need” package for President George Washington which includes a number of materials that will help students research, critique, and apply the work of America’s first president.

In addition to George Washington, there is an “Everything You Need” package that guides students through the struggles, interests, and achievements of President Abraham Lincoln.

Scholastic.com also offers a robust “If I Were President” package which includes activities that will transport students into the Oval Office. Lessons within this unit include a presidential poster gallery, state maps, a flag making tutorial, a bonus White House reproducible and much more!
