Since the launch of One Million Bookprints for One Million Books, thousands of readers from around the world have visited YouAreWhatYouRead.com to create their Bookprints and to help us donate books to Reach Out and Read. Today we reached the 24,750 books donated mark!

Each time a user creates a Bookprint — 5 books that shaped their life — Scholastic Book Clubs’ Classrooms Care will donate a new book to a child in need on behalf of that user through Reach Out and Read. It’s very exciting to see the live book donation counter tick up and up! You can grab a book donation counter widget for your own website and blog to show off your Bookprint and how you’re doing social good.

We’ve seen many classrooms joining the online book community. The site’s new Bulk Registration feature allows teachers to sign up multiple students with just a few easy clicks! There’s even a Quick Guide for Teachers that helps introduce the program to students, and a letter to send home to parents – so everyone can create a Bookprint!

If you’re like me and you’ve already created a Bookprint, check back regularly to see who else has joined and which books they’ve picked. Names You Know – our list of 222+ well-known reading role models continues to grow. In fact, see who joined this winter:

Pretty neat Bookprints, right? I love how a Bookprint gives you the chance to peer into someone’s life, all the while, finding new and interesting reads to explore.
