It’s a wonderful life (with WordGirl)!
By Guest Blogger on December 15th, 2011
Who hasn’t wondered what life would be like without certain obligations (cleaning my cat’s litter box springs to mind…), or even what it would be like if you didn’t exist? Would the world be better? Worse? Kind of the same?
On a very wonderful episode of WordGirl tomorrow on PBS KIDS GO!, our favorite word-powered superhero finds out exactly what would happen if she were ONLY Becky Botsford and not WordGirl, too.
Becky wishes that she were just a little girl and not a superhero after missing her birthday party because of WordGirl OBLIGATIONS. It’s a Wonderful Life-like shenanigans follow and Becky sees exactly what the world would be like without WordGirl — it would be a world ruled by Chuck the Evil Sandwich King! Will Becky be able to take back her wish? Who will teach the citizens of the city correct grammar? Who made Chuck King?!
Tune in tomorrow to see how the definition-dynamo realizes to always be careful what you wish for and that the world is better with WordGirl. (Check your local listings to find out when WordGirl fights crime on your local PBS station!)
This holiday-inspired episode has us thinking…what’s your favorite holiday movie to watch at this time of year? – Caitlin Sweeny

Just because this is a blog post about WordGirl, I think I’m obligated to correct your grammar. I replaced two instances of was with were because the subjunctive case should have been used.
