Follow Scholastic on Pinterest to expand your interests

Scholastic has joined Pinterest! We’re very excited to connect with this new and rapidly growing community. Pinterest — a social network where users “pin” images from around the web to virtual “pin boards” — can be very addicting! Consider yourself warned. If you’re ready to spend the next hour exploring beautiful images, crafty projects, delicious food, LOL pictures of animals (who knew?), fashion highlights, then welcome to Pinterest.
Our interest in Pinterest started when our colleague, Lia, showed us all of the images and links related to Scholastic that people were already pinning onto their boards. Some users were pinning our Read Every Day. Lead a Better Life. global literacy campaign logo. Others pinned vintage Scholastic Book Clubs flyers and pictures from their school’s Book Fairs. And, of course, many users had dedicated boards filled with Harry Potter and Hunger Games fan art, merchandise, and other just-for-fun fan creations.

For the Scholastic boards, we created one featuring vintage Scholastic goods (#nostalgia!), one for pictures snapped at our office headquarters in NYC, and even one featuring classroom ideas! However, my favorite board is Libraries We Love. When we see a picture of a beautiful library, guess what we’re going to do? We’re going to Pin It! The beauty of Pinterest is that there’s something for everyone to discover. It’s how we found beautiful Hunger Games nail art, Dobby the elf baby, an archway made out of books, and much more! Be sure to Follow us on Pinterest and catch our Pins in your home feed. We’ll Follow you back and look forward to re-pinning your Pins!

We’re always looking for new ideas so if you have a Pinterest board we should be following, or perhaps a theme we should showcase, let us know in the comments here.
