There’s no better way to give thanks than to give back

What does a big red dog have to do with Thanksgiving? You’d be surprised. Caitlin Sweeny, an associate marketing manager for Scholastic Media, is here to explain.

I LOVE Thanksgiving — there are few things better than being surrounded by more Thanksgiving food (sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and stuffing, oh my!) than I could possibly eat in a month. But Thanksgiving isn’t just about gobbling turkeys and eating as many side dishes as humanly possible. It’s also a time to give thanks for everything in our lives, both BIG and small…and there’s no better way to give thanks than by giving back.

In fact, the winning Big Ideas in the 2011 Be Big In Your Community Contest, announced last month, are all about bringing Clifford’s Big Ideas to life by being thankful and giving back to the community. Whether it’s providing cell phones for homeless veterans, raising awareness for kids living with Celiac disease or promoting conservation and keeping parks clean, giving back is being BIG.
