On the red carpet with Hugo
By Dante on November 22nd, 2011
Yesterday, New York hosted the red-carpet premiere of Hugo, the 3D big-screen adaptation of The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. Hugo opens in theaters on November 23 and stars Asa Butterfield as Hugo, Chloe Grace Moretz as Isabelle, and Sir Ben Kingsley as Papa Georges. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese — Hugo is his first kids movie and his first movie in 3D.
These stars and many, many others were out walking the red carpet before the premiere at New York’s famed Ziegeld Theater last night. The press line waiting for them was long — it included photographers from all over the world, journalists from local, national, and international outlets, and, naturally, a Scholastic News Kid Reporter!
Grace McManus is a red carpet pro, having previously covered the star-studded premieres of Fantastic Mr. Fox and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. She used her skills as an intrepid reporter to land interviews with Butterfield, Moretz, Kingsley, and others. Check out her video report below, and look for her review of Hugo on the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps site tomorrow!
