As you probably already know, we’re big fans of summer reading here. Is there really anything better than sitting in the park with the sun shining down on the latest book that you’re reading? I don’t think so!

We launched our Summer Challenge program a few weeks ago, but we’re also very excited that forty-three U.S. Governors’ Spouses have recognized the importance of reading over the summer for the students in their states, and signed on as Reading Ambassadors for 2011!

Each Reading Ambassador gave a 500 book donation from Scholastic to a school of their choice, helping to ensure that the kids keep reading all summer long!
