On Monday, August 2nd, we’re launching the Hunger Games 13 District Blog Tour, hosted by some of your favorite book bloggers. Each blogger will run a contest for fans to win game-changing, custom Hunger Games prizes exclusive to each blog stop. We’re as excited about this as Galleysmith, representing District 1! To learn more about the tour and prizes, join the Scholastic Hunger Games Facebook Page. The full blog tour is listed below and on Facebook.
Now, for our giveaway: Tell us in the comments below how you plan to “get hungry” for the release of Mockingjay and we’ll select a winner at random on August 20, 2010. If you’re the lucky winner, we’ll ship you a copy of Mockingjay so that you’ll have it at your doorstep the morning of August 24! For a little inspiration, we sent OOM bloggers Amanda and Tyler to “get hungry” at our “HG Training Center” where they worked on physical skills necessary for survival if they plan to return to the Arena in Mockingjay…
Inspired? You bet! (*Whew* I’m a little exhausted just watching them…) Now it’s your turn: Tell us how you’ll “get hungry” for the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy and you’ll be entered for a chance to win.
You must be 18 or over to enter. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. U.S. only, void where prohibited. Read the official rules here.

I have three teenage sons. I work full time as a freelance writer. I cook and clean and take care of my family. I am always hungry… and I deserve Mockingjay so that I can keep myself in Katniss-like shape to continue keeping up with my crazy life!

I get hungry for Mockingjay… I diet and take exercise to make myself fit for the next Hunger Games instalment. Plus, I read plenty of other books. Mainly dystopias, to keep with the theme. (But I'd much rather read Mockingjay, if it were available already).

I've reread The Hunger Games and Catching Fire 4 times, and have been writing unit lessons to present this to a class of high school students from the side of the Capitol or the Districts (student choice to illicit good class discussions!) I'd love a copy to share with my class!! gdcribbs at aol dot com

Ever since I read "Hunger Games" I was hungry for more. Then I read "Catching Fire" and still was not sated. I guess what I'm saying is that I've been starving for "Mockingjay" since I finished the first two books; and the hunger never goes away since I re-read them every so often while I wait for August 24, 2010.

WOW – Book 3! Coming out just in time for school to start and the approximately 900 middle school students in my school will run into our library and drive me crazy asking about "Mockingjay" and I'll have to tell them they have to wait 'till we get money in September, then order it, and wait for it to arrive! I am already H.U.N.G.R.Y. for "Mockingjay" just thinking about the wait for the kids!

These books brought my teenage son, my tweenie daughter and me together. After my son read the books, he begged his sister to read them because he wanted someone to talk to about them. Then in turn she and he requested I read them. I am so thankful I listened. These books can be read on such different levels and what I took from the books compared to what my children did was fascinating. We hunger for that deep level discussion that only a great book can provide. I am just worried about what mini hunger games we might have to have to see who gets to read "MockingJay" first.

I'm already "hungry" for this book The hunger started months ago. I am getting anyone who hasn't read the first two to read them and then I have more people to talk to about them. I even loan out my books, which is hard because I am very picky about the care of my books. Counting the days and filling my time reading.

I've been hungry for this third book ever since I closed the last page on the first book! I've been getting hungrier by re-reading the series, reading the Scholastic blogs and articles online, having very serious and heated "team Peeta vs. team Gale" discussions with friends, and of course, training like a Career.

My daughter and I have been hungry for Mockingjay since we finished the last book. My daughter is a cross country and track runner and she gets hungry by thinking of ways Katniss can survive in the arena as she herself trains to run. I am getting hungry by thinking of the possible ways that Suzanne Collins can take the characters and therefore us as readers on this wonderful aned exciting journey with Katniss and everyone in all of the districts.

Mockingjay coming out the week of my birthday seemed like the best present ever. I want to make sure that the release of Mockingjay will be as epic-ally awesome as it deserves to be. To stay hungry for the third book, I'm going to make sure that the week before the release is as miserable as I can make it. 1.)I'm going to hire my friends to constantly bring up the series, so that I have no time to forget how excited I am. 2.) I'm going to read "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire", then I'm going to read the last chapter of "Catching Fire" every morning and every night before I go to bed, so I'm constantly reliving that "OMG, that is NOT a full ending" feeling. 3.) I'm going to fill my cupboards with foods that will remind me of the series. For example: Cinna-stix, "Peeta" bread – and even Catnip. As far as physically wearing myself out? That week is marching band camp here at USU… That's sure to take care of me.

Well I've been hosting a read-a-long in a small LiveJournal community aptly named OurDistrict13. I've also taken part in the Hunger Games discussion posts on Scholastic's Book Talk read-a-long. AND I've participated in many twitter discussions over the books and characters. Yet, after all of that…I AM STILL HUNGRY!!! In fact, I think I'm just more worked up!
Unfortunately, my first day of class is on the morning of the 24th. As soon as I can escape, I'm running to Barnes and Nobles or the nearest bookstore to pick up a copy of Mockingjay. I hope they don't sell out! (but if they do, I pre-ordered a copy from amazon

How am I getting hungry?
Oh, I'll tell ya how.
I'm practicing the art of staying up all night, ignoring people all day, and the most important ignore all school work.
And when I succeed at this, I will be able to spend one night up late to buy the book, read it all up to 6 am, then go to school, while thinking about the book the whole time. (When I should be learning spelling and grammer, which I suck at) Then come home spend the rest of the time finishing the book!
I AM SO HUNGRY! RAWR!!

I admit, I borrowed a friend's copy of The Hunger Games on a lark. When I finally put it down, I was so amazed that I immediately ran to the nearest bookstore and bought both it and Catching Fire. Some of my 8th grade students told me I HAD to read Hunger Games. So this summer I did, then I read Catching Fire almost right after it. When I finished Catching Fire I quickly logged onto my library's website to put Mockingjay on hold and was astonished to find out it was not yet published!!! And the hold list was 2000 something. Man, am I hungry???!!!! It will be ages before it's my turn to check out the book. I sure wish it would magically appear on my doorstep on August 20.

I've been babysitting little kids all summer. That is certainly a hungry-making business. Its like actually being a mom, except that when their actual mom gets back, I get to go home, and crash, and maybe reread the Hunger Games and Catching Fire if I'm lucky
Also, I just realized that if I won, this would be the first thing that I get shipped to my new apartment. August 24th will be right after I move in. Moving into the apartment will certainly help make me hungry as well!

I work at Hot Topic and since we're getting in all sorts of Hunger Games merchandise, I'll be buying all sorts of really awesome stuff. I already have the first shirt we received, white with the mockingjay symbol and it says "Down With The Capitol". And I'm also planning to host a party before the release of Mockingjay and also before the release of the movie. Ever since I read Hunger Games on August 29th, 2009, I was desperate for more. Luckily, my librarian was giving away an ARC of Catching Fire. I had the book in my hands two days before most others did.
The moment the words "END OF BOOK TWO" flashed on the bottom of the page, I knew I was screwed. I literally jumped up and said, "I have to tell someone about this."
Reading the Hunger Games is like an emotional roller-coaster. You feel the ups-and-downs of life in District 12, fighting in the arena, forging relationships with the other characters, puzzling over new revelations and mysteries, laughing, crying and falling in love with the beautifully depressing and dark world Suzanne Collins created.
I am so enamored with the series that I plan on making it the first book we read during book club (Which resumes in September – lucky ducks! They don't have to wait for a year for Mockingjay!) I forced my friend to take my copy home and wouldn't talk to her until she read it. By that point, she was a goner as well.
The Hunger Games has made me a lot more aware of my body, my mind and my surroundings. I enjoy taking longer walks and getting exercise so if the time comes, I might be a bit prepared for fights to the death. I have never been hungry like Katniss has (Never for food that is. Hungry for human contact, for hope, for a night without dreaming, a world where I don't have to worry about my family and friends… Those I hunger for.) but now I consider what I eat, and how others do. It's a shame really that some of us have so much that we have to throw it away while others have so little that they can barely make it through the day.
I may not be as stubborn as the Girl on Fire. Or as passionate as the Boy With the Bread. But I know what it's like to want something, and I want a copy of Mockingjay. Unlike Katniss, I'll say: PLEASE?

When I read the first installment of the Hunger Games, i was utterly in love with it. I started it at 12 am on a Saturday, and stayed up to read it until 6am (non-stop) and finished the book. I did practically the same with Catching Fire. I've been hungry for Mockingjay ever since I finished Catching Fire, and plan to stay that way until my hunger is sated. So my plan to get hungry is..to stay as starving as ever.
Comment on July 31, 2010 at 11:31 am
My daughters and I have been hungering for Mockingjay since we finished reading Catching Fire. I read the books first and told my daughters about them and they loved them when they read them. We have been starving for Mockingjay since then. We may need to get three books instead of one so we aren't fightiung over who will get to read them first – maybe have our own "Hunger Games" to see who gets to read the book first!!!

My "hunger" for Mockingjay has been growing at an exponential rate. To quell it to nearly-tolerable levels, I've been distracting myself by creating Hunger Games themed jewelry to wear to the midnight release party in NYC. Distraction only goes so far, however. The gnawing, relentless agony will constantly eat away at my soul until August 24 arrives to quench it.

I can't wait to get my hands on Mockingjay! I am re-reading Hunger Games and Catching Fire so I'll be very "hungry" for Mockingjay. I plan on standing in line to get the book when it's released. Unless it's being delievered to me, that is.

I'm so excited. I've already re-read Hunger Games and Catching Fire a couple of months ago, but I'm about to pick them both up agian to prepare for Mockingjay. I like to try to finish the previous book the day before the next arrives so its all fresh, but sometime I get so into it I finish a little early because of course I can't put any of the Hunger Games books down! Looking forward to Mockingjay!

A friend told me about Hunger Games a while ago so I put in a hold at the library for the first available copy. A MONTH LATER! I still didn't get it. So I just decided I would buy it. Wouldn't you know what came in the next day? yep. So then I had to go buy Catching Fire as soon as possible because I had to know what was going to happen. And I was SOOOO happy to find out that Mockingjay was coming out the end of August. I was starving for Hunger Games and I had to take the situation into my own hands. I feel that Mockingjay is my reward for having survived. hehe

Hungry for this book after finishing both books in rapid succession! First recommended to my children by a good friend who also happens to be a Young Adult librarian, and then I became a big fan, too! Don't worry — I'll let the kids read Mockingjay — after I'm done with it!

I plan to dress up at Katniss (in public!) the day of the twenty-third. That includes a black jacket, green shirt, yoga pants (for running around better), leather boots, and a braid.

I'm hungry for this new book in the series because Suzanne Collins has concocted something truly special here. These books have everything you could ever want in a book. These books are a love story, a drama, a mystery, and action packed. However, more importantly they carry a bone-chilling truth to their theme. The truth being that if we as a country, as people, continue on this greedy path for "advancement" then we will surely regret it in our future. If not us then our kids, if not our kids then their kids, if not them then surely someone will have to deal with the consequences of our actions today.

I've reread The Hunger Games and Catching Fire twice so that I'll know exactly what happened before Mockingjay. This is my all-time favorite book, and I've been waiting very impatiently for Mockingjay to come out.

You guys are AWESOME! I've reread both THE HUNGER GAMES and CATCHING FIRE in anticipation. Also, MOCKINJAY release the day AFTER my first day of school, and, last year, I found out our school has an archery club. I'm signing up on the first day of school in order to, as you say, channel my inner Katniss. I'm also going to be wearing my Mockingjay pin from Scholastic until the book releases. If it's not totally nerdy, I'm going to have my mom braid my hair, like Katniss, and am writing a fanfic for a contest on what part I would play in the uprising against the Capitol.
Great contest! Can't wait for MOCKINGJAY

My sister Laura kept telling me about this book called The Hunger Games. She said it was incredible and she mentioned it multiple times. I bought the book, but I am so busy with 6 kids, work and grad school that I didn't take the time to read it. Wow, what a fool I was! I decided to read the book this summmer and I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! Why did I wait so long? I stayed up early into the morning reading and then I had to rush out and buy Catching Fire!! I am now obsessed and I am famished for Mockingjay!! Please hurry August 24th!!!

I plan to stay hungry by LARPING!
What's LARPING you ask?
Why, LIVE ACTION ROLE PLAYING!!
I'm not 100% sure who I'll be playing, of course, but after I reread Hunger Games and Catching Fire I will, most likely, grab a bunch of my most Hunger Games crazy friends and act out (most) of the books (the parts that CAN be acted out). Especially the ending of Book 2.
What? Larping is cool

(Trying this again, abiding by the rules)…
I'm stoking my hunger for Mockingjay by going back and rereading The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I'm developing cravings by talking conspiracy theory with my HG-fanatic friends. My stomach is rumbling as I choose theme songs for the characters and my favorite scenes. I'm experiencing Hollow Days in these last few moments leading up to Mockingjay's release. And I will sit down to feast on the 28th of August at a Book Club dedicated to Mockingjay (by then, I shall have been through Mockingjay at least twice!)
I can barely wait until Katniss takes flight! May the odds be ever in her favor!

I first read this book as something to do but by the 2nd page i was hooked. i got involved in the book i found myself in tears. i couldnt put the book down and ppl started to get mad at me because i was so invloved with the book and couldnt pay attention to what anyone was saying.
susanne collins was a genius! she should all of katniss's emotion with such perfection. i found myself acting out some of the emotion.when peeta confessed his love for katniss i felt shocked stunned upset and extatic. the second he said he love her i scrame with joy then it settled with me…gale. poor gale though i am personaly team peeta, iv always been a fan of freindships turning out to be more. i feel that gale has loved her forsome time but never had the guts to say anything to her until he learned that he might lose her to peeta. i was upset because i thought his confesion was all for the games but whenhe told her the story back when they were little…and the girl in the red dress.i think they were perfet for each other the engagement but katniss,s fear of merrige then the bomb shell of the qurell i was crying so hard. the rebeling district 13 the capitol….it was perfect
catching fire is such a popular book and i was on 20 waiting lists for the book and on each i was number 13-26. once i got the book i read it 3 times and each time i cryed in all the same places.
im already on the waiting list at my library and bbookstore for mockingjay.
to prove how hungry i am im gonna be having a pure hunger games party and im gonna take everything off my wall and defote that whole wall to my hunger games obssetion. if i dont win this copy i dont kno wat id do because i want to prove that im the hunger games biggest fan id be absolutly devistated.

Katniss, the girl on fire, lit a slow burning fire of hunger in my belly in The Hunger Games and she fanned the flames, feeding them, in Catching Fire, to the point where I need the relief of the third, and final installment, Mockingjay, to tame this appetite that consumes my thoughts.
In the meantime, the tendrils of this fire spread to my family and friends, to anyone connected to my pages on social networks. I open my mouth and the famine for this series swells beyond the borders of my life and into the life of others. I know it's too late to contain, this fiery hunger is too strong, but the closure will bring reprieve, not only me, but for those I've contaminated as well.

To "get hungry" for Mokingjay me, my brother, and two neighbors went in to the woods with planes to make a home video based of Katnesses experiences in the arena. But our planes where ruined when two people that were already in the woods started throwing rocks at us. So we never made the movie but felt like we where running for our lives. That is how we “got hungry” for Mokingjay!

Yesterday, I bought a really, really cool Hunger Games shirt! (It has the mockingjay pin on the front and "Down with the Capitol" on the back!) I'm going to wear it with my Mockingjay pin (like Katniss!)everywhere I go on August 24th.
I'm going to re-read both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire before the release. (Probably that weekend. Non-stop Hunger Games!)
And I'm planning on baking cupcakes and icing them light blue and put the mockingjay pin on it. I start classes then so I'm not sure how my Mockingjay release will pan out. But I fully plan on partying in my head all day, dressing in my Hunger Games related merch, and eating cover inspired cupcakes with my sister!

I'm Mockin' Jays, and Trackin' Jackers.
I'm counting deaths, and wishing them stars.
Climbing trees, singing songs, healing hearts.
It's Snowing I know it; I'm HUNGRY.
Taste of blood, smell of roses, I'm HUNGRY.
I'm steaming from my seams, I'm at boiling point, Catching Fire; I'm HUNGRY
The Games have just begun.
I'll pick a berry, any berry, cause now I'm hopeless.
I'm starving, I'm hungry, I've become Hunger.
Searching for eyes as blue as ice.
I'm ready,
I'm HUNGRY,
Feed me
Death…
I won't stop until the familiar fragrence of bread graces my nostrils with its presence once again,
Forever, until I dream a dream filled with nothing but a distant knowledge of death.
No One Will Ever Know
I'm HUNGRY.

'Get' hungry? I've already BEEN hungry for Mockingjay ever since I finished Catching Fire six months ago!! If I were any more hungry, I would be ravenous! But if you insist. . .I will probably get hungry for Mockingjay by having some HG discussion with other fans leading up to the August 24th release. The speculation debates are right up there with how I remember the Harry Potter fandom to be — and I love it.
There's nothing better for getting excited about a new book than to speculate over what will happen within its pages.

I ran 18 miles on Saturday and then spent the rest of the day reading all of Catching Fire. I did not realize that Mockingjay wasn't out yet! I'm still HUNGRY. I am going to run 20 miles next weekend, but what will I read????? The week after that I am also planning on running 20 miles.
I NEED Mockingjay. By the 24th I will be very, very hungry.

I've read both books multiple times. I got my copy of the Hunger Games in the New York Scholastic store and proceeded to read it every chance I got. When Catching Fire came out, I checked 3 bookstores until it came out, and read it as fast as I could! I absolutely love the stories and the characters and I can't weait to find out who survives in Mockingjay. I'm getting hungry for it by reading both books over again and trying to analyze every bit of them so I can figure out what will happen next!

Ever since I read "Hunger Games" I was hungry for more. Then I read "Catching Fire" and still was not satisfied. I read the first 2 so fast, ti made me dizzy for more. I guess what I'm saying is that I've been hungry for "Mockingjay" since I finished the first two books

I'm completely obsessed with The Hunger Games and plan to 'get hungry' by re-reading both The Hunger Game and Catching Fire. I also plan on making my way over to a midnight release party for the book, perhaps with a homemade The Hunger Games t-shirt! But to be honest, I don't think that I can get much hungrier than I already am, I'm starving! Can't wait for this book

How will I "get hungry" for the release of Mockingjay? Well, I plan on keeping up with all the latest news on The Hunger Games and anything else new. I hope to attend a party for the release if there' one in my area, and maybe I'll do a dress-up of Katniss. I'd also like to get a Hunger Games shirt.
Can't wait for Mockingjay!!! <333

I'm starving for Mockingjay! Ever since I read the Hunger Games, this series is all I think about. I compare everything in my life to it. I tried and failed many times to suppress my hunger for Mockingjay, and was only able to fill the hole partially. To fill this hole, I re-read The Hunger Games nineteen times, and Catching Fire eleven. I bought myself a Mockingjay Pin, I've been hunting for a shirt, and I've drawn out nearly every character in the series.
In an attempt to literally satisfy my hunger about a month ago, I made chicken with an orange-based sauce to try and replicate the meal that Katniss had in the Capitol.
I'm definatly hungry for Mockingjay.

My plan to "get hungry" includes taking a vacation day so I can read Mockingjay on the release day. Wearing my Hunger Games tee at least once a week. Harassing…encourage my coworkers to read Hunger Games and Catching Fire before Mockingjay is released. Wear my Mockingjay pin everyday and finding a way to work in my Hunger Game tee in my work wardrobe.

Hrm.. Well, having first read The Hunger Games in Late September '08, and then continually reading that for a long period of time.. Getting Catching Fire the day it came out, and deeming it to everyone as 'the best day ever' ..
I have edible plants in my backyard, thanks to this book. I can actually quote large portions of the Hunger Games, from the sheer amount of times I've read it.
I've read these books high up trees. I've plotted our my own little versions of these games.
Hungry is an understatement.

I think that I shall be "HUNGRY" for the Hunger Games Book 3: Mockingjay when it comes out in August is: to read this book as soon as I can, so in order to fulfill this task is to take a big bite out of it.I will read it morning and night until it is over. From the moment I saw an advertsiement for the Hunger Games, I knew my void of books was filled (and Katniss and the one and only incredible Peeta would do there job's quite wonderfully) ….my mind was once empty after Twilight and Harry Potter disappeared, in my life.
I have done everything mentionable to get my self-satisfaction of the hunger games, by watching fan made video after fanmade video ever created for the books…I even found myself singing along with Katniss to Rue's lullaby….I wept along with Katniss as poor Rue, was dying in her arms.
The Hunger games IS my life….I am totally and irrevocably in love with this series and Collins' wonderful cast of characters….I will read and re-read the series, for however many times I have to, in order to keep this wonderful series in my heart forever and ever. To be denied the ability to read this Mockingjay book: the long and well waited for book (prob., ever to be written by an author), would be pure torture for me and my love of this story; it would be like being denied chocolate covered blueberries. I will not be satisfied until I find out the ending of this wonderful story.
I want to read some new and delectable, something good enough to eat.
I want to take a bite out of this book like a vampire sucking blood and tasting the sweet, red, warm liquid from a poor innocent soul.
I want to fill, and finish the void I have for a good thick book; to smell the scent of a newly pressed book, and feel its pages as I caress the book in my hands.
And this is why, I want to read Hunger Games #3: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, more than any

I will get "hungry" by rereading (for the 3rd or 4th time, I can't remember) the books the day before Mockingjay comes out… Because my first day of fall semester is on the 24th, and I have to go to class.
But after my last lab is done for the day, I will curl up somewhere and read straight through, no matter how late I have to stay up!

I'm hungry for the Mockingjay book because I have 5 kids, 15 grandkids of which my sons family (4 kids 1 brand new baby) are moving in with me, I own a store of which I don't get paid because we don't make enough and I'm expected to keep up the house, cook the meals and keep the yard looking great. I am hungry for a book that will take me out of my misery and put me into someone elses…

The first thing I just did a couple of days ago was re-read the books, so that by now my memory is refreshed after three times of reading HG & CF. I’ve scribbled notes all around the pages — they are the ‘clues’ I found that may be interesting for Mockingjay, or things I think have been said because /something/ will happen because of them.
I made a necklace (a locket, to be exact) with 2 pictures: Peeta&Katniss and Gale. They are actually the people who remind me of them.
I’ve downloaded all the songs you guys put up every Music Monday to get into HG mood. Would it be weir if I said I also downloaded the audio of my favorite trailer (i.e; THG Mock trailer) to /imagine/ I am really Katniss in the movie? lmao.
I go to sleep at night with my iPod on and listen and listen to the songs/audios until I’m tired. Before drowsing off completely, I end up listening to Kimmy’s Rue’s Lullaby (from Mockingjay.net). ;DD
Also, I was talking to my friends and suddenly I thought it was the perfect momento to bring up HG, so I did. Even classmates that are not really close to me sat nearby and went like ‘OOOHHHH’ when I explained the story. My closes friends (especially the avid readers) have already read it or are currently reading it. They CAN’T STOP. We fangirl in the halls when we talk about certain events, and even sneak to the library and use the computers to check Mockingjay.net and other HG stuff. We’ve played together that HG Survival game in the UK website and still do! ;P
It’s odd, but I can’t see pita bread again the same way. I take it to school for lunch, and we fangirl over that too until the older girls are looking at us weird. Yes, bread’s amazing, sweethearts.
I’ve named by new pet Patniss. I can’t stop adressing her, just for the pleasure of saying her name. WOOT!
On our school’s Science Fair, a group of girls brought a bow and arrows to make a fun game for the younger ones. It was really to explain their project in an entertaining way, and you had to shoot the thingy towards the window, where the stickers where. I spent the four hours we were there shooting at it. They were genuinly convinced I was obsessed with their interesting project.
Usually now I braid my hair more often. A friend of mine was like, ‘New do, huh?’ and I just looked at them the way I knew Katniss would. I felt like a Goddess. :*
A couple of days before Mockingjay is released, me and my friends (the ones who’ve read HG) will be meeting another friend at her house. We’ll be bringing the things the tributes ate in the arena, like cheese, bread, fruits, candy because of Prim, cakes because of Peeta, etc. Boy, will it be a fun party!
I’m DYING for Mockingjay! I seriously can’t wait! It is bad enough that I’ll have to wait for the first weeks of September to read the book. I live so far from the US. D:!

** The Music Mondays mentioned in the 3rd paragraph are from Mockingjay.net, where they upload cool music related to HG. (:

Ok, so I will be at school the day of the release… but I would TOTALLY skip school if I could JUST to be the first in my area to purchase the book. not sure I can get any hungrier for the book! Our biggest problem is the fight over who in the house will get to read it first. Ahem, as if that's going to be an issue since I will be sure to have read 1/2 the book before I wake up the kids…

Our library has 4 copies on order to fill all of the holds that started the afternoon we added Mockingjay to the catalog. My library is small-ish, and we don't often get a lot of people interested in any book before it's published….but we have kids, teens, and parents who have been waiting on the hold list for Mockingjay since May. The sad part? Our staff hold is #9 on the list. How can we possibly wait that long?

To start to "get hungry" for Mockingjay, I'm going to reread The Hunger Games and Catching Fire probably many times before the 24th. I also have a countdown on my computer which I check very often. I'm going to be wearing my mockingjay pin a ton. I also "play" Hunger Games with some friends. We go up to a golf course near my house at night and we all vote what district we're from.Tthen we count to 30 as everyone runs away. We hide and form alliances and plan ambushes. When a person is punched ("stabbed") in the back, chest, or gut, they are "dead" for about 30 seconds. After that, they can get up and start hunting or hiding again. When we decide that we are completely exhausted, we stop playing and whoever died the least number of times is the winner. On the 23rd, we are going to have a party and argue about what's going to happen in Mockingjay and play Hunger Games and then wait at Barnes and Noble to be the first ones to get Mockingjay.

My hunger began when I read the first book 2 years ago, and only grew after reading the second book. My hungry continues to grow, especially now when Mockingjay is so close… My hunger will not be sated, in fact it will be the opposite, until August 24th, and as I try to distract myself working at an aquarium, watching over my younger siblings, getting ready to go off to school, reading more books – rereading the Hunger Games in fact, my hunger only continues to grow and won't be gone until I can read Mockingjay!

I will finish my book before Mockingjay comes out, encourage others to read the series or tell them to get the boxed set for those who already know about the series. Draw fanart for the hunger games, treat the 24th as if it was New Years so I can scream my head off when it gets released, try to go to my nearest bookstore and run to get Mockingjay. Reread The Hunger Games & Catching Fire for the 29th time. Plan possible theories on how Mockingjay could end. Wonder if it's appropriate to hug the bookstore person after I purchase Mockingjay (I did that for Catching Fire last year) Eat bread. Oh and once it is the 24th for me, I plan to run around in circles for Mockingjay. That is what I will do! Because I love the series, Suzanne Collins for writing them. C:

I'm going to take a vacation day and read Mockingjy until I'm done. If I don't win it I'll order a copy.

I plan to get hungry by sighting in my bow, avoiding the crowds (I hate the city), staying away from spoilers, and probably reffing an Escape and Evasion arena game with a local group of friends. So, on release day, I'll basically be a gamemaker.

I'm going to get hungry for Mockingjay by calling out sick on August 24th to read the book! That will probably make me hungry when I stop getting paychecks because I'll get fired

Every time I think about Mockingjay, I get really excited. My blood races through my body, anticipating the release. I just spent three hours reading blogs about it, and searching for a midnight delivery. I'm so excited now that I could run a marathon!

I keep telling everyone I know about the series and why it is so awesome and why they should read it. I think I have almost managed to convince my uncle to read them. I also keep telling people exactly how much time is left until the book comes out. I plan on getting the book as soon as I possibly can when it comes out and doing nothing else until I finish reading it.

I got hungry for Mockingjay by re-reading the first two books of the trilogy this weekend. I've been discussing possible outcomes with fellow book bloggers, and I am now ridiculously excited for August 24th! I'm reminding myself of how I was on edge before the release of the last Harry Potter book
My classes start the 23rd, but I only have one class on the 24th so I'm hoping to be able to read!

I'll make a point to have a Hunger Games marathon by reading the first two books again before the release and wearing a whole Mockingjay outfit to the release.

I plan on "getting hungry" by taking the day off to read Mockingjay. I plan on getting the entire book read in one day, even if I have to stay up all night to get through it.

In order to "get hungry" for the release of Mockingjay, I will reread the first two books of the series, make my sister read them so that we can obsess over them together, enter all the giveaways for mockingjay, and attempt not to knock over the kids and scream that actually WE are the biggest fans of the series when we are finally able to read Mockingjay. It's all about perseverance and self control…

My daughter an I are already hungry for Mockingjay and have been fighting over who gets the one copy that I have pre-ordered first. Another copy (signed by Suzanne Collins no less!) delivered to our doorstep would be just the thing to ease the conflict. I get the signed copy of course…

I've changed my wallpaper on my computer and my phone and re-read the first two books in the series. Today I spent most of the afternoon playing Hunger Games: Training Days on Facebook (the game makers selected me in the reaping). So I've been training very hard to get the highest training score I can.

I'll be hungry for Mockingjay by having to work all day Tuesday, swimming class just after that, and knitting group after that. A full day without even being able to crack the book, I'll be *starved*

I'm totally obsessed with this series. I plan on rereading the first two books back to back and then haunting every freaking bookstore within a half-hour radius until I find one that has it. Then I will craft a food mountain for my children, leave a bowl of water, and lock myself up in a room. haha

My plan is to spend the next 4 days (already been doing this the past 2 weeks) reading CF and THG non stop. And also playing the Hunger Games board game I bought 2 months ago that I finally got in the mail today! Then when I finally get Mockingjay I will be reading it atleast 10 times probably more. My roommates are so going to hate me…oh well. Then I will be counting down the days until Suzanne comes to Chicago in October and then going to her book signing! Can't wait!

Well, my thoughts have been consumed by The Hunger Games these past weeks, making me extremely hungry for Mockingjay. I will continue to think about it 24/7, until I finally get a copy in my hands. And when I do, I will stop everything to read it. Also, so that I wouldn't be the only hungry person I knew, I managed to get others hungry for Mockingjay as well. >:)

My plan of action has been quite simple. In order to get hungry for Mockingjay, I've reread The Hunger Games and Catching Fire! I'm also continuously posting "X AMOUNT OF DAYS!" statuses on Facebook, probably annoying some of my friends in the process (hehehehe….) >:D

I plan to lose some extra weight calling my diet Down with the Capitol diet. Katniss will need her strength to fight the Capitol she can run fast climb trees and shoot with a bow and arrow I will jog and climb stairs and lift things for my arms. I will cut my food intake in half. Plus once I get my book at midnight I plan on staying up all night reading it because my kids will and they could spoil things. Can't have that.

As I am almost in my 3rd trimester and having a girl, I plan to nickname her Katniss in utero for the last trimester and skip work in order to read this book!
